Privacy Policy

Effective date: 21 September 2026

This policy explains what happens to your personal information when you visit this Coming Soon page for Dérónkẹ́, including if you sign up for launch updates or follow us on Instagram from here. It covers this holding page only and will be replaced by a full privacy policy, covering online ordering, reservations and our full site, when Dérónkẹ́ launches.

1. Who we are

Trading as: Dérónkẹ́

Legal entity: DSO Limited, company number 17239441

Registered office: 28 Comet Drive, Wolverhampton, WV10 9AZ, UK

Trading address: Dérónkẹ́, 110 Icknield Street, Birmingham B18 6RZ

Contact: [email protected]

Dérónkẹ́ (“we”, “us”, “our”) is the data controller for the personal information collected through this page.

2. What this page collects

  • Email address: only if you use the “Notify Me” form. Nothing else is requested on this page.
  • Basic technical data: standard web server logs (IP address, browser type, device type, pages visited, referring site) collected automatically by our hosting provider as part of normal operation, not by us directly.
  • Instagram: the “Follow on Instagram” button is a plain link to our Instagram profile. It does not load an embedded widget on this page, so it does not itself set any cookies. Once you click through to Instagram, your use of Instagram is governed by Meta’s own privacy policy and cookies, not this one.

This page does not use advertising cookies, tracking pixels, or non-essential analytics cookies.

3. Why we collect it, and our lawful basis

What Why Lawful basis
Email address To email you when Dérónkẹ́ opens, and occasionally with launch-related updates before then Consent (see section 4)
Server/technical logs To keep the site running, secure, and to diagnose faults Legitimate interests (running a functioning, secure website)

We do not use your email address for anything beyond notifying you about Dérónkẹ́’s opening and directly related updates, unless you separately agree to something broader later (e.g. a marketing list once the restaurant is trading).

4. Email consent

Submitting the “Notify Me” form is how you give consent to receive this specific email from us. That consent is a clear, affirmative action, specific to this type of message, not bundled into general terms. You can withdraw consent at any time by unsubscribing (a link will be in every email we send) or by emailing us at [email protected].

Every address on this list is here because someone actively chose to give it to us.

5. Cookies

This page uses only strictly necessary cookies (if any) needed to make the form work: nothing that requires your consent.

6. Who we share it with

  • Our hosting provider (Hostinger), which processes technical/log data as part of hosting the site.
  • Square (Block, Inc.), if you sign up via “Notify Me”: your email address is added to our Square Customer Directory and used through Square Marketing to send you the opening notification and related updates. Square requires opt-in consent for marketing emails, drops that consent automatically after 12 months of no contact, and includes an unsubscribe link on every campaign it sends.

We do not sell your information, and we do not share it with anyone for their own marketing purposes.

International transfers

Square is a US company (Block, Inc.). Square’s own terms state personal information is primarily processed and stored in the United States, though it may also be processed in the UK, EU and elsewhere Square operates. For UK sellers, Square applies UK-approved transfer safeguards (the UK Addendum to the EU Standard Contractual Clauses, or the UK International Data Transfer Agreement) under its EEA/UK Data Processing Terms. In practice: your email address, once submitted, may be transferred to and processed in the US, under those safeguards.

7. How long we keep it

  • Email addresses from “Notify Me”: kept until Dérónkẹ́ opens and you’ve been sent the opening notification, then either deleted or, only with your separate, explicit agreement, moved to an ongoing marketing list. If you unsubscribe earlier, we stop holding your address for this purpose as soon as that’s processed.
  • Server/technical logs: retained only as long as our hosting provider’s standard operational retention period (typically a matter of weeks), not by us directly.

8. Your rights

Under UK GDPR you have the right to:

  • Ask what personal data we hold about you, and get a copy (right of access)
  • Ask us to correct inaccurate data (rectification)
  • Ask us to delete your data (erasure), including simply unsubscribing
  • Ask us to restrict or object to certain processing
  • Withdraw consent at any time, without affecting anything done before then
  • Receive your data in a portable format, where applicable

To exercise any of these, contact [email protected].

9. Complaints

If you’re unhappy with how we’ve handled your data, contact us first at [email protected] and we will investigate and respond within 30 days.

If you’re not satisfied with our response, you can complain to the UK’s data protection regulator:

Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO)
ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint

10. Children

This page is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 13 through this form.

11. Changes to this policy

We’ll update this page if what we collect or how we use it changes. Most likely when the full site launches and this narrow policy is replaced with a complete one covering ordering, reservations, and our full analytics stack.
